My uncle 66yrs had gastritis and was recommended for a abdomen and prostate scan. I have attached the report. What does this mean? Is this something cured with lifestyle changes? Prominent extra renal pelvis noted in right kidney. Urinary bladder is distended. Lumen is free. Wall thickness is normal. Pre void-200cc Post void-80cc Prostate is enlarged in size and echo texture. It measures in vol-34cc. No free fluid is seen in the peritoneal cavity. Visualized aorta, IVC and para-aortic regions appear normal. IMPRESSION: - GRADE I FATTY LIVER. GRADE I PROSTATOMEGALY WITH SIGNIFICANT POST VOID RESIDUE.

If he is not having any urinary symptoms. Then nothing needs tk be done. It is physiologic to have increase in prostate sze as the person ages. If he is symptomatic get these tests done Uroflowmetry with pvr. Urine c/s Serum psa
