5 weeks old baby

My baby is starting to cry while feeding and then crying continues for about 1 to 2 hours for the past 3 days. Feed for 20 to 30 secs then starting to cry vigorously, face turning red. Not feeding properly after that and then once slept she is sleeping for 4 hours. Sometimes more than 4 hours. And also she is not feeding well but passes out 10+ urine under 24 hr. This patterns happens at midnight and morning. She is sleeping through the afternoon, evening and early night. Before 3 days there is no feeding issues and she will wake for every 3 hours and latch and sleep rest of the time.

Is the baby exclusively breastfed? The symptoms you have mentioned are suggestive of colic. Please burp the baby adequately post feeds, can do tummy massages to dispel gases. Skin to skin contact and swaddling will help to soothe the baby. In case the symptoms are unrelenting, you can give Colic aid drops SOS.

If baby is less than 3 months age, than sleeping patterns and urine pattern is okay. Crying may be due to colic. You can give Colicaid drops according to age. You should increase burping time  after feeding.
Next Steps
consult pediatrician if symptoms persistent or worsen
Health Tips
In newborn phase, mostly such changes are normal.
