My 4 weeks old son sometimes not sleeping more than 4 hours straight. Is this normal? He is not crying but expressions are swallowing something or just staring.how much wake up time is ok for new born.

In the initial neonatal period baby will sleep 16-18 hr a day. Gradually it will reduce. But u should wake up the child every 3-4 hrly and do breast feeding.
