My baby has total bilirubin value at 11.9 mg/dl at 4 days with direct bilirubin 2.7 and indirect bilirubin 9.2. Doctor advised a follow up blood work after two days and frequent breast-feeding. Is this level of direct bilirubin high?

Neonatal jaundice is very common entity and doesn't always require treatment. For full term baby 11.9 bilirubin at 4th day of life is normal and just followup is required. Direct bilirubin of 2.7 and indirect bilirubin of 9.2 is in normal range .
