23 months old baby not eating solids

My son is 23 months old now and he was a preterm baby born in 33rd week. He has been eating semi-solid food since he was 1 year old. But still he has not started eating solid food yet. Whenever we tried to give him some solid food, he gets choke and vomit all food. We are little worried for his eating habits too, as he never asks for food by himself. Can you please suggest something for improving his eating habits.

Start with semisolid food with more liquid & less solid gradually reduce liquid part and increase solid portion Baby will learn to eat solids after some time
