It's not uncommon for teeth with fillings to become sensitive, even months after the procedure
Next Steps
Continue Using Sensitivity Toothpaste: You mentioned you've been using Sensodent K Plus. Sometimes it can take a few weeks of consistent use to notice a significant improvement. Make sure to brush gently with it twice daily. Desensitizing Treatments: There are in-office treatments available that can help reduce sensitivity. These treatments include applying a desensitizing agent or fluoride varnish to the affected tooth. Check Your Brushing Technique: Ensure that you are not brushing too hard or using a hard-bristled toothbrush, as this can aggravate sensitivity. A soft-bristled toothbrush and gentle, circular brushing motions are best.
Health Tips
Avoid Certain Foods and Drinks: Try to avoid very hot, cold, acidic, or sugary foods and drinks, as these can trigger sensitivity. Drinking through a straw can also help minimize contact with sensitive teeth. Schedule a Follow-Up Appointment: Since the sensitivity has persisted and your current toothpaste hasn't provided relief, it's important to have the filling checked. There could be several reasons for the sensitivity, such as the filling needing adjustment, slight decay under the filling, or an issue with your bite.
