It started with me not able to talk with anyone about anything. I was so confused and my mind told me repeatedly that I wasn’t of any use and good at nothing. had never believed such things in past. But this was my own mind telling me how to refuse it. I started to hear my parents tell me that how I am a burden. This went on for a year. I left to live in a hostel to avoid taunts. I just didn’t know what to do. Sudden fear started and that was my breaking point. I knew I had to meet a doctor. My friend helped me meet doctors. I met lung doctor & heart ones. Every one told me it’s stress. Medicines given to me increased my fear and increased voices that became daily. Then I met this psychiatrist. I didn’t know what schizophrenia was. She was patient and heard me. Within one- two meet with doctor my medicines helped. And I was able to feel like myself. It took me one month to overcome it completely. My life has turned around now. Now I live with my parents again without the voices. I have been lucky with my parent and friend support. Doc also helped me accept myself and what was happening. I am grateful for her picking my calls when I was in a bad phase and she always answers my doubts on WhatsApp or call.Read less
