I am in my second trimester and have been going to Dr Chitra since the start of the first trimester. She was always curt, to the point, and refused to give her number in case of emergencies. This is the first time I have seen a gynaecologist refusing to share her number knowing fully well that pregnant women have tons of questions and several mini emergencies which may not actually be an emergency but the women just want an assurance that all is well. Coming back to my case, I am in the second trimester and I got an anxiety attack on Aug 27 night. I called up her assistant doc Sushmita prakash on Aug 28 morning who asked me to go to emergency since it was a Sunday and that’s the “best we can do on a Sunday”. I went there and the doc on duty was gentle and helped me calm down. On Aug 29 I went to her to show my reports and for general consultation. Apollo being a low ceiling hospital and the gynae OPD being in basement I was feeling very claustrophobic and was anyway recovering from my trauma of the last two days. When I entered her room, I took my mask off as I couldn’t breath and was getting panicky in my mind due to the small chamber. She confirmed that I was the same patient who came the day before for emergency and then started on her rant of wearing mask *** *** ******** **** ** **** ******* **** *** ****** She kept sort of screaming and being mean and rude, knowing fully well my fragile state of mind. I couldn’t believe I was with a doctor. **** *** ******* **** *** ** **** ******* ****** ******* ******** I started weeping and she got up and asked me to open the door and stand there and talk if I wanted to be without mask. I felt embarrassed by my situation, pathetic that I actually cried in front of this person *** ******* ******* ** ** * ****** *** ********** *** ** ****** ********** She said I was free to cancel my appt, get a refund and go to a hospital which was big and lavish. I sat there listening to all this, crying. I know I would never recommend anyone to go ** **** ******** ****** *** **** ** ** *** ******* ** *** ******** ******* **** ****
