Since October 2023, I had been experiencing intense feelings of self-doubt, lowered confidence, comparison with others, overthinking and ruminating about negative scenarios, low-mood and anxiety to the extent that it started showing physical symptoms.

Some of the many symptoms were: trembling of hands, twitching of eyes, stomach aches, constant heaviness in the chest and head, extreme emotional weakness and vulnerability, amongst many more.

All this was related to my inability to appreciate the positivity in my life, and also due to some unexpected turns in my personal and professional life most of which I'd like to keep private.

To give an overview on how I ended up in this situation, I kept on focusing on what was going wrong instead of what was already good in life and being grateful for that. I started thinking that I don't even know where I'm heading in life and I might not be able to achieve anything and that I was good for nothing. I thought my dream of becoming a musician will end. Since college time (and my school time too), I had focused on music so much that I didn't grow much in my profession as a CS engineer and felt left behind. My voice cracked on high notes (which I was able to easily hit previously back in college) due to excessive throat singing while I was in a band post college during Covid.

The loser mindset grew and I lost my charm, lost my interest in all the things I used to do with ease. I blamed harsh singing and excessive strength training during college for all that I thought had happened to my vocal cords. I started feeling as if that time would mark the end of my life and I wasn't even willing to live the next day.

I gathered some courage looking at what my state had been doing to my family for months, especially to my mother who'd pick me up from misery every day, I decided to take psychological help from Dr. Vidhi. And this was after I took help from a renowned Psychiatrist and also another Life coach.

First few sessions felt meaningless in that state of mine. I knew I would feel that way but I kept on visiting her. She listened to me very patiently, understood my thought pattern and my problems, what caused that phase, and started guiding me on how to get back. The main takeaway for me was: Doesn't matter how you're progressing in life, you might be failing, staying stagnant, or thriving. The only thing you need to keep doing is action. Stopping action and only thinking won't fetch you anything in life. The only way you can get out of this is by persistent action.

This shifted my perspective slowly and I started resuming the things I used to love. It took some time and you have to be patient. I still wasn't doing those things willingly, but gradually, I did come back stronger. Stronger than I ever was. And now I'm way more confident and way more grateful than before.

I visited Dr. Vidhi for my issues related to married life. I would say that she is a seasoned professional and does not come to conclusions or results in a hasty manner. Firstly she used tools and techniques to validate if I am being honest and transparent to her in explaining the situation and took couple of sessions to understand the situation in a broader sense. In very methodical way, she first made me strong enough to handle the situation rather than suggesting solutions to the problem. After few sessions she suggested solutions/actions as step by step process based on the outcome of each action. I am still undergoing her consultation and the problem is not yet resolved however I have now become more stable and strong enough to handle the situations. I would highly recommend her for any kind of issues. I would also like to say that going for consultation to a psychologist does not mean that we have some mental issues. It is more of getting a professional help or advice where we are confused or in dilemma and are not able to resolve personal issues ourselves. She interacted on a personal and friendly level allowing me to open up to her with such ease it felt like a cake walk. And within a few sittings my dragging and long persistent state of negativity, anxiety and acute depression healed. She balanced and charted my therapy sessions well so that I can guide myself to self healing on a permanent level. For every session made me understand she knows what she is doing and what I was suffering from.
