Furthering his expertise, he completed a fellowship in Fetal Maternal Medicine at INOVA Fairfax Hospital in Falls Church, Virginia, USA.
His notable achievements include establishing the Fetal Maternal Medicine Department at Emirates Hospitals Group, which included implementing a pregnancy surveillance program, greatly improving the outcomes for both mother and baby at the hospital. This department was orchestrated to closely cooperate with the obstetricians, neonatal, and paediatric surgery departments, facilitating a seamless care pathway. Dr Alawneh provides comprehensive antenatal care and specialises in managing multiple pregnancies and the counselling and care of complicated pregnancies, including preterm deliveries, pre-eclampsia, and mothers with diabetes.
