Vocal folds
I am doing research on speech disorder.Is there any possibility that mute people have some frequency in their vocal folds.Even if the frequencies are not meaningful to form a word,we would like to show some images to the person and when he reacts to that image ,the frequency pattern will be integrated with word.Avoid all the technicalities i included.Can you please tell me if they have frequencies in their vocal folds.I will be grateful if u respond.Thank you.
yes even those who cannot speak do have ability to produce sounds. Their vocal fold vibratory pattern is as similar to that of a normal person. It is because their speech centre is not developed that they cannot articulate to form language or words.
Congenital inability to speak is generally secondary to absence of sound stimuli due to hearing loss since birth.
