Hi, my daughter has got urine infection 6 months back (January 2017) and we gave IV fluids course for 7 days to treat it. But now again she got urine infection and doctor is suggesting us to take ultrasound test for kidneys and urine reflux test. In January when we took ultrasound test, report shows no problem in kidneys. Could someone please suggest us whether urine reflux test is mandatory to take or ultrasound test is enough to dignose problem. As she is just one year old, I am worried about pain from urine reflux test she gets.

Micturating cystourethrogram( MCU) is a good test and is indicated in such situation to delineate reflux disease. Reflux disease is a known cause on infants in recurrent urinary tract infection
