Dear all, Today i went for uric acid test and the test result is 7.2mg/dl (normal range 3.6-8.2mg/dl), I am worried now. Can any one suggestion how can i reduce to 4mg/dl. Will any medicine needed ? Please suggest Thanks Ashwani

Since it is within normal range,no need to take medicine now, However,general measures are adequate fluids,restriction of red meat in diet if any and restriction of spinach and other uricosuric diet is advisable. Follow up uric acid level at a month ,if high/abnormal, drugs can be started
