Typhois IGM positive
I tested positive for Typhoid on 2nd March
used cefixime + azythromycin( 2 per day) and vsl#3 tablets( 3 per day) for 5 days
today 14th March i was tested positive again
i have seen blood stains 4 times in the stool during last 2 weeks.
could you help me on medication to be followed and any specific diet
Your blood will remain positive for some time after typhoid. In typhoid ulcers form in the intestine which could cause blood stained stools. May be the ulcers have not healed with 5 days of medication. See your doctor again and tell him about the blood stained stools he may ask you to take medicines again. Take bland diet for some time. Avoid spicy and oily food and take plenty of liquids.
