Immunoglobulin M (IgM) is one of several isotypes of antibody (also known as immunoglobulin) that are produced by vertebrates. IgM is the largest antibody, and it is the first antibody to appear in the response to initial exposure to an antigen. However it is seen in very low titres. So, to interpret the report, it means that you have been exposed to SalmonellaTyphi antigens, but it is NOT CLINICALLY SIGNIFICANT as it has to be above 1:80 titre to become clinically significant.
Next Steps
repeat the test after 1 week. Continue all medications as advised by your physician.
