Type of anesthesia
A friend had a doubt. He has to get a minor surgery to remove a cartilage growth in his nose that's blocking his breathing. He is afraid to be awake during the procedure and would therefore prefer general anesthesia and not local. He wants to know whether the patient gets a choice in the kind of anesthesia that they receive during such surgeries, or whether the choice made by the surgeon.

All he needs is good intravenous sedation along with Locoregional Anaesthesia. Sedation relaxes the patient into the restful groggy state, when the surgeon can give two injections to block the greater palatine and sphenopalatine nerves. This is adequate for most nasal surgeries. This is even better and safer than General Anaesthesia!
