During upper GI endoscopy for my mother , a 4 mm polyp was found which was given for biopsy . Biopsy report came with the following "Adenomatous polyp with low grade dysplasia" . What does it mean ?

It means the cells in the polyp belong to a type called tubular adenoma which if left alone for a long time the polyp can grow larger in size and it might turn to cancer.     The polyp must have already been removed during biopsy as the size is only 4 mm
