At your age, I am assuming, that the tooth you might have removed would have been just a mobile portion of a decayed permanent tooth. And when that happens, you do not remove the entire tooth but only the week portion of the Crown. The root is definitely inside the bone which you cannot remove yourself even if you want. And this is the precise reason you still have pain in that area.
Please do not ignore this problem and visit a dentist as soon as possible for a proper clinical examination and the appropriate treatment. Delaying this treatment can aggravate the symptoms and make the healing phase longer.
