Hello Ma'am Tourette syndrome (TS) is a childhood neuropsychiatric disorder characterized by motor and phonic (vocal) tics, often associated with behavioral abnormalities
Next Steps
Drug therapy for tics is required when tics interfere with social interactions, school performance, or activities of daily living. The goal of treatment is not complete elimination of the tic, but rather control of tics to reduce the social embarrassment or discomfort due to the tic, therefore improving social functioning.
Health Tips
I generally prescribe oral medications of Clonidine and parental psychotherapy to my patients with such symptoms.
