My father is a patient of thyroid. It was diagnosed since 2016 and since then he is under medicine prescribed by a general physician. As on March 16, TSH was 5.9, as on june 16, TSH was 3.61 and as on May 17, TSH was 3.01. My question are: 1. that this type of thyroid problem can be cured as the doctor said to continue medicine lifelong. 2. What is the ideal TSH for man aged 60 years. 3. Is skin dried if diagnosed without thyroid?

The therapy for hypothyroidism is lifelong. The tsh target for him would be below 5. There could be other causes of skin dryness too, apart from hypothyroidism.
