Thumb sucking

My baby is 96 days old and exclusively breastfed. His weight is 6.5 kg. He is sucking his thumb always. While sleeping, also he sucks thumb . I try to remove it, but if he wakes up, he puts his thumb again into his mouth, and in his wakeup window also he used to keep thumb in mouth at that time if we try to remove thumb he cries. Is it becoming a habit? Will it make tooth deformities? What I can do to change this habit.?

Don't give too much importance otherwise the child will do it purposefully and make it a habit. Maybe in 2 months will leave it.
