Swollen lymphnode for years
I've had a rubbery posterior auricular node that has been swollen for about three years behind my right ear. It's about 1cm, but it's hard to tell because it's oblong and sits right on the bone behind the ear. It's not painful, it moves pretty liberall when pushed, I'm not currently I'll and have no history of cancer in my family. I'd just like to know why it's still Inflamed or if it's cause for concern. my GP told me years ago it should clear up but hasn't yet.
Post auricular lymph node enlargement occurs usually secondary to skin or scalp infections. Persistent or recurring infections of scalp can lead to persistent permanent enlargement of lymph nodes. If it is not associated with pain or progressive enlargement in size you need not worry about it
