Swelling in ring finger

Got a swelling in ring finger near the nail. Did an xray and there is no indication of fracture, looks some kind of infection, have been taking tablets to reduce the swelling and it has reduced upto some extent. Pls. Advise how to reduce the swelling because i hav got a triathlon competition to attend. Immediate reply would be highly appreciable.Thanks..

It's called Paronychia. Most commonly infection. Take Tab Gudcef CV 200 MG TWICe daily after meals. Tab Ibugesic plus twice daily after meals. Terbinaforce plus cream apply twice daily. That all u need to do,

if drugs not work ,incise and drain the wound near nail fold (should be done by doctor carefully).still not releived visit orthopaedician

Hello there..I can understand your concern. from your description and the picture it looks like you could be suffering from acute paronychia. at present you will need oral antibiotics and anti inflammatory to reduce infection and swelling. if the paronychia is due to ingrowing nail, then you will need to get your nail removed. so kindly consult a dermatologist or general surgeon for further evaluation and management.
