Feeling of increase in the heartbeat, even when you are not doing any exercise, may be a sign of disturbances in the rhythm of beating of heart (the ARRHYTHMIAS). Please go through the section on ARRHYTHMIA on my website www.thefitheart.in. The preliminary tests that you would need is an ECG and an echo. You may need more sophisticated investigations involving long term ECG monitoring to have detailed analysis of your heart rate variation trends throughout the day. But first of all, Please meet a cardiologist and get yourself properly clinically examined, so that proper planning for your further management can be done. Thanks. Hope this helps.
