Why is stent added in stomach? Got recently operated for gall bladder stone removal. What is the procedure to remove it through local anesticia ?

I guess stent will be in bile duct if am not wrong. better u get it removed by a gastroenterologist or the doctor who has inserted it. its usually for temporary measure to reduce complication
