It may just be a sprain or there may be a fracture. The only way to know is to have an x-ray. There may be other ligamentous injury as well. Examination by an Orthopaedic Surgeon is recommended for correct treatment.
In the meantime use painkillers, ice packs and elevate the leg. Use a crepe bandage for support.
