My mother is suffering from severe cough. I took her to doctor, he gave normal cough syrup and some tabs. But there is no improvement. Could you please suggest which type of Doctor I need to visit and what kind of tests to be done.

She seems to be suffering from post viral cough which is a common type of dry cough syndrome after an attack of viral upper respiratory tract infection or allergic airway disorder. Identification of cause is important before starting treatment
