Severe cold, clogged nose
Hi Doc, My husband has got severe cold, clogged nose, even if he cleans it. It's like it gets filled in mins. He has headache. Over all his whole face is paining. He gargals and steam once a day. It has been like 4 days still no change. Please suggest.

If the symptoms are only for four days and didn't had such episodes earlier then its clearly acute infection of paranasal sinuses known as acute rhinosinusitis. Treatment includes antibiotics, decongestant tablets and drops and painkillers as required depending on severity of headache. Steam inhalation needs to be continued. Consult nearby ENT specialist for treatment

He needs to consult an ENT Specialist asap. Those symptoms suggest Chronic Rhinosinusitis which can be confirmed by a CT scan of his paranasal sinuses. The scan will also help your doctor in planning the line of treatment which could include Endoscopic Sinus Surgery.......
