Hi My son 2.8 yrs old is scratcing his ears everytime. 3 months back when he is doing the same, I took him to pediac and they said , there is no wax and it is clear. Gave drep ear drops to use. Since a month he is scratcing his ears putting his finger inside... How can I identify of there is wax in his ears.  He doesn't say any pain, but he scratch. Please suggest.

It's normal behaviour.  It's due to dryness in the ear. But putting any drops with out testing is not good. So pls consult a Ent surgeon in person .

Check the ear canal colour. If it's Dark brown in colour then it's wax. If it's pearly white and shiny then it's clear.
