I am suffering from sciatia pain and suggested to go for injection on the spine. I heard it is a steroid and givea temporary relief. Please advice.

Epidural steroid injection is a treatment modality for sciatica.. It relieves the radiating pain.. There will not be any generalized side effects of steroid since it's a locally acting steroid and very low dose is used.. It provides only partial recovery and duration of recovery cannot be predicted..
