Is there any cure for Rtinitis pigmentosae 2? My mother is suffering for Rtinitis pigmentosae 2 i visited many doctors but they all say there is no treatment for this...

Hello A. I am sorry but there is no treatment for RP B. There is hope in form.of bionic eye which may be clinically available in another few years

So far no treatment is available, lots of research work is going all over world for retinitis pigmentosa,it is genetic disorder&may manifest in next generation, it starts with night blindness & goes on increasing with age because it starts from peripheral retina & spread towards macula,so ultimately in old age patient almost becomes blind .

Hello,  Retinitis Pigmentosa is a hereditary disorder. unfortunately there is no cure for it.The vision loss starts from periphery to center, affecting central vision last. Regular follow up with ophthalmologist to examine the field loss by visual field test should be done. Patient needs appropriate counselling and advice. In certain cases low vision aids to aid near work can be given.
