Regarding Vision

2020-12-05 22:35:34
I'm 19 years old. I have asked questions regarding Vision before but the problem I'm facing these days is different. I started wearing spectacles for the first time 2 months back. I was prescribed with cylindrical power only of -0.5D in right eye and -0.25D in left eye. I took a second consultation and got cylindrical only but this time -0.75D in both the eyes. Although I'm wearing the first prescription of -0.5D and -0.25D. I recently started having a burning sensation in my eyes. I have it mostly when I'm working on my phone or laptop. I have a mild headache too. If I remove my specs, I feel better, but when I wear it the eyes brun more. If I don't use screen my eyes feel better but the moment I use it for a longer duration my eyes burn. I am using Patanjali Eyedrops and Some Carboxymethylcellulose Drops IP as lubricants. How can I improve this? Is this serious? Kindly help. Thank you.

Such low myopic correction is unwarranted. Young persons have wide range of amplitude of accommodation.  Your primary complaint when you were prescribed glasses is related to excess near work.  A student or a computer user in addition to spending time on computer, spend time on mobile for work/ entertainment,  adds to the eye strain due to excess accommodation.
Next Steps
stop using glasses.  stop using mobile for entertainment.  minimize computer use. Use hard copies to read if you are a student. if you are working,  use bigger screen, keep it at I meter distance,  spread/ stagger your work. 40 to 45  minutes
Health Tips
read "Ergonomics of computer use ". Modify your working habits. follow standard visual hygiene principles.

Having a look to your complaint it is likely that you are having dry eyes. This occurs mostly in all people who are working with digital screen. You have to take rest in between your work around after 20 minutes, apart from burning sensation other symptoms are may be due to your cylindrical number. So please go to a near by ophthalmologist and get your number checked properly. You can continue carboxy methyl cellulose eye drops.
