Regarding Pregnancy Test

From 2 months my wife is not getting periods,she had done pregnancy test with PREGNANCY KITS. In that she got Negative. Is it accurate or any other test to check the pregnancy. She want to take tablets for periods. We are trying for kids. Please suggest us and tell me the name of any blood test or urine test where we can go to laboratories and test directly to know about this. Pls help us.
