well ma'am dont worry..nuchal translucency scan is a normal scan only ..whre we c if embryo is properly..hv u heard about downs syndrome..it cud be diagnosed earlier in pregnancy by this scan..well its nt always necessary bt its standerd protocol since down syndrome often hv severe morbidity aftr birth..its diagnosed earlier by this scan so parents cn decide whether to continue with pregnancy or abort the fetus. well it happens more remembr nt always..just risks r more if modr is above 35 years..or has previously given downs baby..or history of down syndrome baby in family. U need nt to worry all abot that. as u were curious i said it to u..its a remote possibility bt we cnt ignore it too. Most of the time ur gynecologist skip this scan depending on risk factors. so dere is nothing to worry at all. please take proper nutrition n rest n iron folic acid tabs as per ur gynecologist stay happy n healthy
