Red eye irritation

My right eye has been red for the past two days. The eye has been red, causing irritation and pains slightly. I have got a sterile ophthalmic solution and have been putting it four times everyday for the past two days. Someone suggested putting milk on cotton and applying it on the eye. Looking for suggestions on what can I do to get my eyes normal again.

please don't accept anybody's vague advice. please share a close-up pic of your eyes with detailed history about any watering redness pain itching swelling and blurring of vision.
