Chronic Blepharitis is a smouldering inflammation that is part allergic and part infection. It may require regular scrubbing of lid margins with a 2.5% Boric acid solution twice a a day for a few months. It gets aggravated in winters and may be associated with dandruff as well. Half a tea spoon full of Boric Acid powder in 100 ml of boiled water will make a 2.5% solution.
