I was driving my bike suddenly something hit my face and when i checked my face i have a small scratch on my nose i suspect what if it's a bat i m not sure what was it should i go for a vaccine for rabies
Bat is rabid animal.
So if u get screatch u go for first aid like wash the woundwith, soap n water. Apply povidone iodine locally.
Than,
Immediately go to phc or government hospital for pep as vaccine n inj tt.
Pep for dose on 0, 3, 7, 28 day
Dose 1ml
Site deltoid reason
Route Intradermal +
Inj tt one ample intramuscular in deltoid reason only one.

Rabies from bats — though rare in India — can happen even from minor contact, because:
• Bat bites or scratches can be tiny and painless
• The virus can be transmitted through saliva if it touches a scratch or mucous membrane (eyes, mouth, nose)
Next Steps
1. Wash the wound thoroughly
• Use soap and running water for 15 minutes continuously.
• Then, apply povidone-iodine (Betadine) or any antiseptic.
2. Go to the nearest hospital or municipal health center immediately (preferably within a few hours).
• Ask for Post-Exposure Rabies Vaccination (PEP).
• Mention: “Possible bat exposure with scratch on face, animal untraceable.”
3. They will start the Rabies vaccine series (and maybe immunoglobulin) depending on:
• Nature of the scratch
• Your vaccination history
