Rabies? cat scratch

Earlier today during some construction i noticed a small baby cat running around. I think it was scared from all the loud noises. I and some other managed to trap it. It was cowering and did hiss a couple times i think more out of fear. We were able to grab it. During the process i did get a light scratch on my hand. It barely broke the skin, some red where the scratch is but no other blood. I got the rabies vaccine almost 3 years ago. I should be covered from rabies still in case correct?

Hello there, A minor scratches although considered grade one of injury but you need not worry much. Just thoroughly wash the Scratch area with soap water under a running tap water and apply betadine ointment. I don't think you need vaccination again but a booster dose would be more on a safer side to you.

I must advice to follow complete course of anti rabies vaccination again as some times blood may not visible but tissue fluid oozing occurs so its better to be on safe side. As per your details the cat is not a pet type so we can't know cat's vaccination status.
