Question about ulgel A

Doctor, I need your advice regarding my Ulgel-A suspension. The bottle was opened about 2 months ago and was kept indoors inside a polythene bag, with the cap closed. The bottle shows an expiry date of April 2027. The medicine looks white and smells normal. However, I noticed some black material around the outside of the cap. I could not understand whether it was simply dust/soil or something else, so I wiped it off. I have not used the medicine yet. Is the bottle safe to use, or should I discard it and get a new bottle?

I would recommend discarding this bottle and using a new one, especially because you noticed an unidentified black material around the cap. Ulgel-A should be kept tightly closed and stored in a cool, dry place (generally below 25–30°C). The printed expiry date of April 2027 applies to the unopened product under proper storage conditions; it does not guarantee that a bottle remains suitable after opening if there has been possible contamination.
Next Steps
If Ulgel-A was being taken for persistent acidity/indigestion, they can use the fresh bottle as directed on the prescription/package.
