Hi. Greetings. Yes trimming of hair will certainly help. But if by any chance some remain in the clothes or in residual hair or skin then the condition may recur. This may also occur if the eggs left bugging hatch and new adults grow. You'll need treatment with oral anti parasitic medication and topical anti scabitic lotion for preventing recurrence and complete cure.
