I am currently writing a research paper on prolactinomas and I am not understanding how they are caused. I know it has to do with the adenohypophysis oversecreting prolactin. However, all sources I look up say that prolactinomas are caused by hyperprolactinemia. I'd like someone to explain to me the epidemiology of prolactinomas
