Consanguinity has,been known to increase the chance of husband and wife carrying an identical gene derived from a common ancestor therefore, Children from consanguineous marriages are at greater risk of inheriting harmful conditions caused by homozygous recessive genes and consequently suffer autosomal recessive genetic disorder.
Karyotyping of both the partners should be done before conception and after pregnancy biochemical markers and scan as advised by your obstetrician.
