Positive RTPCR after 14 days of symptoms

2021-05-06 09:26:41
I am 28 weeks pregnant, recently underwent cervical cerclage. I had contracted covid 2 weeks back. I did me repeat RTPCR test after 14 days of the onset of my symptoms which has come out to be positive with CT value of 24 ( Earlier it was 15). I don't have any fever since 4-5 days and all my symptoms have eased of except some mild cough. Am I still infectious? How long should I continue my home isolation? When should I take another test? Kindly advise

Ct value 24 is good. You're recovering. You need not repeat rtpcr anymore. It can stay positive for 1-2 months because of dead virus. You can continue home isolation for one more week to stay on safer side. Continue iron folic acid and Calcium tablets. Take ascoril D 2tsf twice daily for 3-4 days more for the cough. Hope this helps.

Home isolation is adviced till the time you have no sysmptoms for 4 continuous days But if you have already completed isolation for 14 days You should not be infectious anymore As the virus has a cycle of approx 14 days Since you are pregnant would advice a repeat test whenever possible
