My mother has been detected with pinguecula. Is this needs to be removed or it won't cause any discomfort and affect on eye. If the surgery needs to be done then what would be the cost. Thanks in advance for your valuable time to answer my query.

Hi .. It does not need to be removed.shouldnt cause any problem. Some meds can be given if it is red r painful. Use sunglasses when out.

Hello. Pinguecula is harmless and won't progress until its converted into pterygium. So no surgery is indicated. Surgery may cost you around 10k per eye. Hope that helps!
