Pain in chest that extends upto ears

I am feeling immense pain in my chest that extends upto my ears while I lie down. Everything remains normal when I am standing up or walking. I feel the pain when I try to lie down. The pain settles down after few minutes of my lying down. I can feel little pain while deep breathing while I am lying. I suspect it as a problem of gas. Is it something more serious?
