Cough is an explosive expiratory activity and it can cause distress to the chest musculature and bones (ribs , sternum or chest bone) . However all these symptoms go away once cough is controlled or when it subsides completely . Bone pain as a separate entity can also be due to vitamin d deficiency which one can check through blood tests and rectify it by supplementation .
