Pain in back behind chest

My mom has coughing problem for which she is taking medicines. For past 2 weeks she is feeling pain in a small circular spot on the back, at the mid, slightly higher than chest. She would feel it after few minutes of reading, stitching etc. Also on sleeping the pain would move up to shoulder and go up to her hands.
