On the pill but bleeding heavily

I have been on the combined pll for several months now however this month i have been experiencingbleeding that relicates that of a heavy period however yesteray i found that there was a large tissue like discharge occuring. Ther was only 1 piece f discharge however it was the size that made me slightly concerned. Would this be normal for someone on the pill or hould i be going to see my GP
