It is a FDC drug, means a fixed dose combination of two antibiotics. There was a ban of FDC drugs recently due to concerns of lack of standardisation, possibility of prescription error from inexperienced doctors, possibility of dispensing error by pharmacists due to plenty of permutation/combinations and more importantly irrational drug combinations.
Coming to your Medicine, it is a rational combination, suggested by many guidelines as first line for Respiratory Tracy infections. You can take them as separate tablets or a single tablet. (Cefixime with Azithromycin)
A lot of pharmacists have created fear and panic among public regarding this issue.
