No Periods after meprate 10 mg

My doctor suggested me to take meprate 10 mg only once a day for five days. I have taken this and it's been almost a week that I still didn't get periods. I checked a lot of forums where everybody has been told to take in twice a day. My case it's only once a day. Is it because of that this is not effective?
